About Amanda Zubricki, Certified Orofacial Myologist

My journey into myofunctional therapy became deeply personal long before it became my profession.

As a mother, I experienced firsthand the challenges that can come with early airway and oral function concerns. One of my daughters spent time in the NICU and experienced prolonged intubation, feeding difficulties, oral aversions, and persistent thumb-sucking habits that continued until age six. Like many parents, I found myself searching for answers — trying to understand how breathing, oral function, sleep, facial development, and overall health were all connected.

That experience changed the way I viewed healthcare entirely.

It sparked a passion for learning about airway health, oral function, feeding development, and the powerful role myofunctional therapy can play in both children and adults. What began as a personal journey eventually grew into a professional mission: helping families identify root causes earlier and supporting patients in ways that are functional, compassionate, and preventative.

Originally from New Jersey, I worked in private practices across Virginia, Texas, and North Carolina before settling in Raleigh. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Towson University and have a clinical background that shaped my passion for airway health, oral function, and patient-centered care.

I have trained extensively in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT), am a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM), and have additional training in Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT). My background as a former massage therapist further shaped my whole-body approach to care and my understanding of how tension, posture, breathing, and function are all interconnected.

Today, I am especially passionate about helping children and adults struggling with mouth breathing, TMJ dysfunction, sleep-disordered breathing, oral habits, tethered oral tissues, and other airway-related concerns. I believe education and early intervention can make a tremendous difference not only in oral health, but in quality of life overall. In addition to patient care, I am actively involved in advocacy and professional leadership. I run the Raleigh Chapter Airway Circle Study Club, serve as a Trustee for the North Carolina Dental Hygienists’ Association (NCDHA), and continue to collaborate with providers who are passionate about airway-centered care.

I am also the founder of The Myo Project, where my goal is simple: to help patients and families better understand the connection between breathing, function, sleep, and health — and to provide support that empowers lasting change.
